Why we want to be split independent from HW

We would like to have a district separate from Horizon West. While they are our neighbors and we value them and care for them as such, their community is fundamentally different in terms of needs.

Our historic communities in the north of District 1 have distinct issues, and yet we too are suffering from infrastructure neglect. Municipalities are too often overlooked in county-level decision-making, and we need a municipal-strong district to ensure their voices and interests are protected. As the focus shifts to managing Horizon West’s explosive growth, our communities are being forced to lose attention.

Roads are deteriorating, traffic is worsening, and there’s a lack of coordination with local governments. The result is a regional imbalance where historic communities are left behind, and unchecked growth to the south only makes things worse. We need a district dedicated to our community, not one overwhelmed by Horizon’s leapfrog-development demands.
